8th grade students experience social emotional learning when given a challenge by a local homeless shelter. Designing solutions for real people in their community caused these middle school students to engage deeper in the complexities of homelessness. Watch as these teachers used a proven teaching method to focus on individual growth and skill development in teamwork, creative problem solving, communications, critical thinking, research and citizenship.
