At a school where students are sent in lieu of being suspended or expelled, a bold administrator wanted to give these students a learning experience that had more purpose. Dr. Bomar and her teachers then implemented two pilot projects using a new method of teaching and learning that integrated community-based problems and social-emotional learning. As a result of their early success, the method has now begun to spread across their school and the Columbus City School District.

– Dr. Danielle Bomar, Supervisor at Options for Success
